The Austin Area Art Center wants to know where people have been, only, they want it expressed through art.

The AAAC has opened entries for its juried show “Places I Have Been.” and is inviting all area artists to show the places they’ve experienced in travels, whether exotic places abroad or simple drives to another state or city.

The first-place winner will receive $500. Second place will receive $100, and third will receive $75.

The exhibit will be held at the art center, 1301 18th Ave. NW, in the Oak Park Mall and will be on display from May 1 through June 2. People may apply in person. Deadline for entries is April 26. Artists ages 16 and older are eligible.
