Duplicate Bridge

Tournament results for Oct. 10 with six tables: First, Tom Flaherty and Gus Brandt; second, Loren Cleland and Bud Higgins; third, Stan Schultz and Dave MaGee; third-place tie, Eunice Michaelis and Warren Behrends, and Orrion Roisen David Ring.

Duplicate Bridge is played each Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Village Cooperative in Austin, 2301 10th St. NW, Exit 177 off I-90, two blocks north of Walmart. All Bridge players are welcome. Call Dave Ring at 434-4189 for partnership assistance or additional information.

 

Y’s Women

Y’s Women met Oct. 11 at the Hormel Historic Home. Ra Nae Bohm from Hy-Vee floral gave a delightful demonstration on floral designing. She made several beautiful arrangements using fall colors. A drawing was held, and Ra Nae presented the arrangements to the winners.

Evie Mohrfeld conducted the business meeting, which included discussion on the November Christmas open house, which is Nov. 8, 9 and 10.

Hostesses were Joyce Anderson and Pat White.

The next meeting will be Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. at Steve’s Pizza. Members will then go to the Ooh La La store for a tour.
