A guinea pig is the main issue of an alleged burglary that happened on Sunday.

Police arrested Charles Kuhlman, 19, of Austin, after he allegedly broke into a 20-year-old woman’s home and took a guinea pig. According to the police report, the woman received the guinea pig and was to pay $20 for it but had not yet paid the full amount.

The woman then received text messages from someone, which stated she should never have animals as the guinea pig had no food and water.

Police arrested Kuhlman at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday for allegedly entering the woman’s home without permission and taking the guinea pig. Formal charges are pending in Mower County Court.
