NORTHFIELD — The Riverland baseball team won its 10th straight game as it swept Carleton College JV by scores of 11-3 and 14-5 on the road Wednesday.

Former Lyle-Pacelli hurler Cody Meyer pitched five innings without allowing a hit or a run while striking out six in the nightcap.

“He was pretty unhittable once he got going and he’s got a great fast ball,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “He can be a dominant pitcher if he continues to play baseball this summer.”

Riverland outfielder Chris May, a freshman from Southland, was selected MCAC Southern Division player of the week after he hit .778 (7-for-9) with 9 RBIs for the Blue Devils last week.

May, who went three-for-six Wednesday, is hitting .483 on the season, which is the second best batting average in the division.
