Marvin L. Ryks, 81

Marvin LaVerne Ryks, age 81, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday June 5, 2024, at his home in Austin. Marvin was born on July 7, 1942, in Rose Creek, Minnesota, to Ben and Manda (Waller) Ryks. He graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1960. On April 8, 1961, Marvin was united in marriage to Bonnie Theresa Tabor at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Marvin enlisted in the United States Army in 1961 and was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. He served our country until his honorable discharge in 1964 and earned a medal for sharpshooting. Marvin grew up farming and loved fishing and bowling. He enjoyed playing cards and throwing bean bags with his family and friends. In his younger years Marvin was everyone’s handyman. He was a very caring man who will be loved and missed forever.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Jeff (Marilyn) Ryks of Austin, and Kevin (Kim Anderson) Ryks of Duluth; daughter, Lisa (Gary) Beaudot of Esko; grandchildren, Joel Ryks of Austin, Amber Ryks of Austin, Jenny Classon of New Richland, Jillian (Jack) Carpenter of Inver Grove Heights, Mitchell (Kelsey) Ryks of Chanhassen, Andrea (Nick) Osvold of Prior Lake, Janae (Patrick) Moore of Maple Grove, and Calvin Beaudot of Esko; great-grandchildren, Jaxon Sorenson, Peyton Ryks, Hudson Walther, Paizley Sorenson, Charlotte Carpenter, Evangeline Carpenter, Baby Ryks, Gracie Moore, and Ellis Osvold; brothers, Ben (Lorraine) Ryks, and Jerry (Rose) Ryks; several step-siblings; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Manda; siblings, Marcella Stemson, and Elso Ryks; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service for Marvin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
