Hazel C. Johnson, 102

Hazel C. Johnson, age 102, of rural Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin. Hazel Clara Dalager was born on October 15, 1921, in Eagle Bend, Minnesota, to John and Serena (Braaten) Dalager. She graduated from high school in La Feria, Texas. Following graduation, she attended normal school and obtained her teaching degree. On June 21, 1942, Hazel was united in marriage to Homer C. Johnson at Red Oak Grove Church in Austin. Hazel enjoyed sewing, baking, and participating in the Moscow 4-H. She faithfully attended Moscow Lutheran Church for many years and was active in the Ladies Aid.

Hazel is survived by her children, Julie Crowder, Wayne (Linda) Johnson, and Richard (Kathy) Johnson, all of Austin; foster son, Robert (Pat) Elit of Austin; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers; one sister; a great-great-granddaughter; and son-in-law.

The memorial service for Hazel will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Moscow Lutheran Church in rural Austin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Moscow Lutheran Cemetery, rural Austin. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
