The Mower County Historical Society will kick off its first event of the 2024 Lunchbox History Series at noon on Thursday May 23 in the Pioneer Building as Professor Brian Hoffman and his colleagues from Hamline University discuss “Archaeology in Mower County.” Archaeologist Tom Trow from MCHS will introduce the speakers.

Hoffman is leading a team of archaeologists from Hamline University as they search Mower County for previously unknown archaeological sites. Following the presentation, local residents are encouraged to discuss specific sites with members of the Hamline team.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. for this free event. Everyone is encouraged to bring lunch and a friend to learn about history in a relaxing environment during the middle of the day.
