Theresa L. Swank, 90

Theresa Louise Swank, age 90, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, surrounded by family at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin where she had resided since October 2023. Theresa Louise Amundson was born on October 1, 1933, to Oscar and Margaret (Tobar) Amundson in Austin. She attended Queen of Angels grade school and graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1952. She was a lifelong member of Queen of Angels. On January 24, 1953, Theresa was united in marriage to Paul “Buster” Swank. They were blessed with ten children.

Theresa is survived by her children, Doug Swank of Prairie Farm, Wisconsin, Kevin Swank of Austin, Debra Mullenbach of Austin, Nate (Shawn) Swank of Austin, Tamara (Scott) Wilson of Austin, Mary (Leo) Niehues of Red Wing, Lisa (Bob) Cummings of Lenexa, Kansas, Tonja (Randall) King of Red Wing, and Mike (Stacy) Swank of Austin; 27 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Amundson of Hayfield; sister-in-law, JoAnn Swank of Austin; former son-in-law, Dan Dalager; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Margaret; husband, Paul; daughter, Jolene Dalager; grandson, Ryan Swank; daughter-in-law, Jill Swank; son-in-law, Dale Mullenbach; sister, Marie (Victor) Severson; mother-in-law, Helen Swank; and brothers-in-law, Ron (Winnie) Swank, Kenneth Swank, and Leo Swank.

Theresa’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Sacred Heart Care Center and Mayo Hospice for the compassionate care they provided her. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. The visitation will take place from 9:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Mayer-Hoff Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.mayerfh.com.
