Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

According to the calendar spring has arrived and we are ready to begin our 2024 season of travel.

On April 24 we will take in the “Fabulous Lipitones” at the Sidekick Theatre in Bloomington. The play is an uproarious comedy concerning a barbershop quartet.

It’s a story of misunderstanding and a path to perfect harmony.

Even though it’s not musical, it is a delightful story. Dinner will also be included at the theater.

This seemed just right to begin our season. We will be departing at 9 a.m. from

Walmart as all our trips will. Plan to arrive 20 minutes early.

• May 9: Minnesota History Theatre. This will include witnessing the life and art of Charles M. Schulz, the creator of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. We will follow the life of Schulz from his Minnesota roots to his life in California and track the development of the characters that make up the unique world of  Peanuts.

Some of you have also requested some shopping. What’s better than being dropped off by a motorcoach at the front door of the Mall of America? Free time may include the aquarium or FlyOver America on your own. Lunch will also be on your own.

Pick up is at Walmart, who we thank for allowing groups to use their parking lot.

• May 30-31: Fireside Dinner Theatre will highlight our trip to Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin for the opening night of “Nunsense.” This show promises to be a real hoot.

This theater is like none other and is a real favorite of our travelers. The dinner is one of the best with many options.

The theater-in-the-round also provides a unique look with the cast rising from the lower floor.

We have two days of activities as well. This also includes a special stop in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and we will also be highlighting the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin.

If you have joined us before, we will again stop for lunch at the  Moosejaw Pizza for lunch the first day.

You may pick up a schedule in the message box at the south end of the Mower County Senior Center. Our travel number is 507-438-3946.

You may also call Jan at 612-845-0799 to learn about longer trips. There are always waiting lists. Our address is 400 Third Avenue NE. Please contact us if you are interested in travel. The trips are generating a lot of interest.
