On Saturday, the Austin High School Music Department hosted the district Solo and Ensemble Contest.

Vocal and instrumental students from Albert Lea, Owatonna, Faribault, and Austin High Schools prepared and performed a range of diverse pieces for adjudicators and were rated on a 40-point rubric. Out of 115 Austin performances, 52 Austin events received a superior rating (35-40/40 points) and, out of 11 performance sites, Austin took seven Best In Site awards!
