The No. 5 seeded Southland football team had its season end on a 24-20 loss to No. 4 Houston (5-4 overall) in Houston Tuesday.

Southland scored with less than two minutes left, but it couldn’t recover the following onside kick.

The Rebels (4-5 overall) trailed 16-8 at halftime.
