7 new COVID-19 cases reported in Mower County

The Minnesota Department of Health on Wednesday reported seven new cases of COVID-19 in Mower County, bringing cumulative county totals to 928.

Neighboring counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Olmsted and Steele reported 81, 27, 286, 1,058 and 219 cumulative cases respectively.

Statewide, the MDH reported 426 new cases, bringing the state’s total to 36,714 since March 6. Of those, an estimated 31,947 no longer need isolation.

The state again saw a reduction in hospitalizations with 260 patients reported hospitalized with COVID-19, including 125 in intensive care, on Wednesday.

The MDH also reported four more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,445. Of those, 1,135 were individuals living in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
