Mower COVID-19 cases exceed 500

Mower County saw an increase of 78 COVID-19 cases over the weekend, bringing the county’s total to 524 cases since March 19, the Minnesota Department of Health reported Monday morning.

Numbers for surrounding counties include 55 for Dodge, 20 (and 1 death) for Fillmore, 185 for Freeborn, 722 (and 12 deaths) for Olmsted and 173 for Steele.

Statewide, the MDH on Monday reported 28,224 confirmed cases since March 6 and 1,179 deaths since March 21. As of Monday, 452 Minnesotans were hospitalized with COVID-19, including 198 in intensive care.

The MDH estimates 23,657 cases no longer require isolation.

Cook and Lake of the Woods Counties are the only ones that have not reported any confirmed cases.
