Mower County exceeds 900 cumulative COVID-19 cases

The Minnesota Department of Health on Monday reported 43 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Mower County from Friday through Sunday, bringing the county’s total number to 911 confirmed cases since March 19.

Neighboring counties of Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Olmsted and Steele have reported cumulative totals of 79, 25, 282, 1,027 and 215 respectively.

Statewide, the MDH reported 35,861 cumulative cases in Minnesota. Of those, it is estimated that 31,225 no longer need isolation.

Hospitalization numbers have decreased with 278 reported patients in Minnesota hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Monday. Of those, 140 are in intensive care.

The MDH also reported 1,435 total deaths from COVID-19 in Minnesota since March 21. Of those, 1,129 were residents at long-term care of assisted living facilities.
