I am one of the lucky Mower County Senior Citizens who receives a wonderful Meal on Wheels dinner each weekday. The meal arrives around noon time and each day it is a surprise “gift” because I never know which Austin restaurant has made my meal for that one day. Each meal is special and a fun experience to receive, each bag holding either a pasta dinner or sandwich meal. I really look forward to the ring of my doorbell because I know I’ll find my dinner on the other side of my door.  I can hardly wait to check it out and find which wonderful restaurant I’ll be eating on this day!

The main thing I want to say here is my thanks to all these great volunteers who put together these meals each day, provided by the Hormel Company and the Austin Senior Center, and other volunteers who deliver them to our doors, for making our Stay At Home days much brighter and happier than they would otherwise be without that special  “gift” each day. Many thanks to Hormel and to the Austin Seniors for providing us Seniors in Mower County with at least one nice memory of this virus thing.

I have been getting these meals since my 89th birthday at the end of March, and I want you all to know how much I do appreciate them.
