Lorraine Beckel, 89, of rural Kellogg, Minnesota, died Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Madonna Summit in Byron, Minnesota.

Lorraine was born to Henry and Agnes (Hauge) Peterson on Aug. 30, 1930. She was united in marriage to Robert Beckel on Jan. 8, 1949, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. The couple had a home for several years at Prichard’s Landing in rural Kellogg, where they enjoyed the water and the outdoors. They moved to the property full time in 1987. Since retirement, they wintered in Florida.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Wabasha, Minnesota.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Shelly Beckel, Hayward, Wisconsin, and Mike Beckel, Missoula, Montana; three grandchildren, Tina, Bryce and Jenessa; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Robert.

Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Private graveside services will take place at a later date. Services are entrusted to Abbott Funeral Home & Crematory of Wabasha. Words of sympathy or remembrance may be left at www.abbottfh.com.
