Vehicle stolen from NE Austin residence

The Austin Police Department is looking for information regarding a vehicle stolen Tuesday morning from a Northeast Austin residence.

According to Austin Police Chief David McKichan, police took a report of a vehicle stolen at about 5 a.m. Tuesday from a residence in the 1700 block of First Avenue Northeast. The vehicle’s owner started the vehicle, went back into the residence and came out to find the vehicle missing.

A resident at the house saw the vehicle heading west toward East Side Lake.

McKichan described the vehicle as a gray 2010 Chevy Malibu with Minnesota license plate 330XMZ. There is an Uber sticker on the front window, a cross on the rearview mirror, a small dent on the rear bumper and pink writing that reads “RIP Alissa Fuentes” on the back window.

There are no suspects at this time.

Anyone with information on the vehicle’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Mower County Law Enforcement Center at 507-437-9400. Reports can be made anonymously.
