Swimming and diving: Packers are set up for a big day in finals

The Austin boys swimming and diving team set the table for a big day on Saturday as they advanced all of their athletes to the finals in the preliminaries.
Austin’s 200-yard medley relay team and the 400-yard freestyle relay team each set a new AHS record during Friday’s prelims in Jean K Freeman Pool at the University of Minnesota.
Logan Kelly swam an All-American time and he broke his own school record as he earned the second seed in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.31 seconds. Andrew Karpenko of Minnehaha Academy swam a Class A record time of 54.26 seconds for the top seed.
Kelly also broke his own AHS record in the 100-yard individual medley.
The Minnesota Class A swimming and diving finals will begin at noon at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota Saturday.

200-medley relay: Rafe Dolan Peterson, Logan Kelly, Trey Myers, Aaron Knoll (second, 1:34.82)
200-freestyle: Trey Myers (11th, 1:47.12)
200-individual medley: Logan Kelly (fourth, 1:55.07)
50-freestyle: Aaron Knoll (12th, 22.16)
100-butterfly: Rafe Dolan Peterson (fifth, 51.56); Trey Myers (seventh, 53.55)
100-backstroke: Rafe Dolan Peterson (fifth, 53.60)
100-yard breaststroke: Logan Kelly (second, 55.31)
400-freestyle relay: Rafe Dolan Peterson, Aaron Knoll, Trey Myers, Logan Kelly (third, 3:13.07)
