The Grand Meadow-LeRoy-Ostrander-Southland wrestling team punched its ticket to the state meet when it won the Section 1A title in Mayo Civic Center in Rochester over the weekend.

The Bulldogs topped Dover-Eyota 43-30 in the title match after edging out Chatfield 36-35 in the semifinals.

Anthony Romero, Cohen Wiste, Donavan Felten, Christian Jacobsen, Noah Sayles and Cameron Sneed all went 2-0 for GMLOS.

Romero, Felten, Jacobsen and Sneed all recorded two pins.

GMLOS is headed to the state tournament for the first time since 2005 and it was wrestling in Civic Center for the first time since 2006.
