Michael S. (Fritz) Falch, 70, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, at Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Mike was born on May 20, 1949, to Stanley and Marion (Kruger) Falch in Hayfield, Minnesota. He was raised in Austin and graduated with the Austin High School class of 1967. When he was young, he enjoyed go-karts, bicycles, and fishing. He worked at R&F Bike Shop, Hastings Shoe Store, Fordtown, and Southwest Sales and Service before retiring in 2014. He also enjoyed playing poker and going to casinos. Mike was a lifelong Austin resident. Friends knew him as “Fritz.”

Michael is survived by his mother, Marion Falch of Austin; sister, Jeanne (Richard) Felber; nephews, Rod Felber and Phil Felber; niece, Teresa (Virgil) Stoskopf and their daughter, Ella; and nephew, Dan (Alican Bolland) Felber and their son, Jack. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Stanley, in 2015.    

The family would like to thank Dr. Jain and the nurses, aids, and hospice workers at Good Samaritan for the kindness shown to Mike. They would also like to thank all the nurses at the infusion center in Austin and Mike and Gwen for visits and prayers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with a lunch to follow, on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin.
