Austin grad Ruth Koang hit a 15-foot jump shot at the buzzer to give South Plains College a 59-57 win over Odessa College recently.

Koang, a 2016 Austin grad, had 14 points in the win for South Plains and she is averaging 6.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Lady Texans, who play in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference.

Lyle grad Kristi Fett had five points and five rebounds for Minnesota State University (11-7 overall) .

Grand Meadow grad Skylar Cotten had three points and an assist for Bethany Lutheran (15-2 overall) as the Vikings beat Minnesota Morris 60-59 recently.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Austin grads and twin brothers Dongrin Deng and Ngor Deng faced off against each other for the first time recently

Dongrin had 19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals for Dakota, which lost to Ngor’s Bismarck State team 116-75 on Jan. 13.

Ngor had two points and two steals for Bismarck State.

Austin native Both Gach had five points, four rebounds and four assists for Utah (12-7 overall) in a 76-64 win over Washington State recently.

Gach is averaging 10.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Austin grad Duoth Gach is closing in on the career three-point record at North State College of Science. Gach had 31 points and nine three-pointers in an 84-58 win over Lake Region College and he is now 26 threes from the record for the Wildcats (17-3 overall).

Austin grad Ajuda Nywesh is now averaging 17.9 points, 5.25 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 12 games for KK Vardar in a professional league in North Macedonia.
