On Thursday, Dec. 17, our class had a visitor from the Mower County Humane Society, Mr. Barry and his dog friend, Tom. We learned about how having a pet is a lot of responsibility. They need a safe space, to be groomed, and to have plenty of food and water.

We also learned about how some people are not very nice to dogs and cats. The humane society helps the animals and gives them medicine and a safe place to stay until they can find a family. Mr. Barry also brought us a list of cleaning supplies and foods that their animals are in need of.

All of the kiddos made special cards for the humane society workers as well. We did find out that Tom the dog found a loving family with kids for Christmas. Our classroom was so happy that Santa made Tom’s wish come true.
