The Austin wrestling team lost to Albert Lea (3-1 overall, 3-1 Big Nine) 73-6 in Ove Berven Gym Thursday.
Austin junior Adam Vlasaty won by forfeit at 220-pounds to pick up the lone win for the Packers (0-5 overall, 0-3 Big Nine).
At 120 pounds, Austin senior Anthony Valencia nearly came up with a first period pin against AL’s Carsen Knutson, after trailing 4-1 early. Valencia led 6-4 after the first period, but Knutson scored 12 points in the second period and won the match with a third period pin.
