Thelma “Jo” Stundahl, 82, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at her home at the Cedars of Austin.

Thelma Jewell was born April 7, 1937, in Ava, Missouri, to Simon Ela and Mary Esther (Freeman) Hancock. She graduated from Ava High School in 1955 and attended vocational school. Jo married Leslie Stundahl on March 3, 1978. Through the years, she worked for the telephone company, cab company and the Austin Daily Herald.

Jo enjoyed sewing crafts, crocheting afghans, and made many quilts for friends and family. She loved listening to country music, reading her Bible and baking goodies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael Jensen and Alton Dale Jensen Jr.; daughter, Vicki Jensen; and three sisters, Helen (Bill) Hodge, Dorothy O’Donnell and Betty (James) Shelton. Jo is survived by her husband, Leslie Stundahl of Austin; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Jensen of Georgia; grandchildren, Christina, Donny and Derick, all of Georgia, Daniel (Wendy) of Florida and Sasha (Michael) of Missouri; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Sheila Hastings (Willie King) of Austin; and special friends, Chuck and Nancy Cook.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Barbara Finley-Shea officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Geneva Cemetery.
