In Your Community: Riverland ag club rings bells for the Salvation Army
The Riverland Agricultural and Food Science Technology Club members rang the bells for the Salvation Army at Austin HyVee last week.
This is the third-consecutive year the Club has rang the bells as part of its Christmas Bell-Ringing Project.
“I like to volunteer and help out with different events,” said Ag Club member Olivia Krause. “I enjoy being a part of the community.”
“It allowed me to see the true generosity of the community and the willingness of them helping out other,” said Ag Club President Aaron Wagner. “It was great to see the happiness and joy of the season on people’s faces as members of the community stopped to talk and drop money into the red kettle.”
“We are proud of our students in continuing to expand on what they learn in the classroom to grow their leadership development and community impact skills,” said Advisor Nick Schiltz. “We hope our students will continue to pay it forward in their future careers and lives as they become leaders within their communities.”
