Blooming Prairie girls win Hayfield Tournament on Worke’s buzzer beater

The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team won on a late score for the second straight night when it edged out Kenyon-Wanamingo (3-7 overall) 47-46 to win the Hayfield Holiday Tournament Saturday.
Julia Worke hit a game-winning three-pointer for BP with just two seconds remaining one day after Allison Krohnberg had scored with four seconds left for BP to edge out Hayfield.
“I was really proud of the girls’ ability to just keep battling all game even when things were not going our way,” BP head caoch John Bruns said. “We gave ourselves a chance and we were able to capitalize when the opportunity presented itself.”
Maggie Bruns had 12 points and 10 rebounds for BP (6-1 overall).
