Wingers slip past Packer girls hockey team

The Austin girls hockey team couldn’t hang on to a third period lead as it lost to Red Wing (2-5 overall, 2-1 Big Nine) 3-2 in Red Wing Saturday.

Jordyn McCormack gave Austin (0-3 overall, 0-3 Big Nine) a 2-1 lead when she scored early in the third, but Red Wing’s Eliza DiNatale scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the contest to clinch it for the Wingers.

Samantha Krueger scored in the first period for Austin to tie the game at 1-1.
