ALBERT LEA – Construction on the westbound Interstate 90 Oakland Woods rest area will be completed and re-opened today, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Oakland Woods, which is east of Albert Lea, was closed for expansion of parking and repaving work. The nearby Hayward rest area on eastbound Interstate 90 is still closed for repaving, sidewalk and ADA work and is expected to re-open in 2020.

Overall, the construction contract for the four projects is $8.9 million. Ulland Brothers of Albert Lea is the prime contractor on the projects.
