Packer girls blow past Century in opener

The No. 7 ranked Austin girls basketball team opened its season in dominant fashion as it beat Rochester Century (0-1 overall, 0-1 Big Nine) by a score of 71-39 in Rochester Thursday.

The Packers (1-0 overall, 1-0 Big Nine) jumped out to a 29-4 lead in the first 11 minutes of the game.

Hope Dudycha put up 20 points as 10 players total scored for Austin.

The Packers begin their season with three games in three nights as they play at Kasson-Mantorville at 7:30 p.m. Friday and play Big Lake in Hopkins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
