Mark Stephen Burzinski, 59, lived his life in Austin, Minnesota, and passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, with his caregivers, staff, and family at his side.

Mark Stephen Burzinski, 59

Mark was born May 16, 1960, in Austin to Joseph and Mary Ann (Krokos) Burzinski. He graduated from Austin High School in 1980 and later worked at Cedar Valley Services for 39 years until an injury in the autumn of 2018 forced him into rehabilitation in Rochester, Minnesota. Mark’s parents were his primary caregivers for 44 years. He moved into Prairie Sky Apartments in 2004 until health complications forced him into a skilled care facility at Rochester West. Mark loved his crafts, socializing, going to St. Augustine Church, watching movies, and spending time with family. He had an affinity for sweets and loved trying to scare people. Mark collected superheroes like Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. Our family is immeasurably appreciative of the countless caregivers from the public schools, Cedar Valley, Prairie Sky, and Rochester West. They all met his physical needs, but most of all they listened and showed him love and compassion and became his extended family.

Survivors include his sister, Judy (Clint) Lueck; brothers, Dave Burzinski, John Burzinski and Dean (Karen) Burzinski; nieces, Bridget (Andy) Ebert and Rachael (Travis) Hodny; and nephews, Jacob (Stacie) Burzinski, Nick Burzinski and Matthew Burzinski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Ann Burzinski; brother, Brian Burzinski; and niece, Kristine.
