Donna M. Goetz, 85

Donna Mae (DeVreize) Goetz was born on July 28, 1934, in Dodge County, Minnesota, to Roy and Dorothy DeVreize. She grew up in the Brownsdale, Minnesota, area and graduated from Austin High School in 1953. In her early years, she worked outside on the farm. In the 1950s, she moved to Austin and worked at Hormel foods in the shipping department. While there, she met the love of her life, Clarence (Shorty) Goetz. They had five children: three boys and two girls. Donna was a stay-at-home-mom, as Dad was an over-the-road truck driver. Donna was a kind and loving wife and mother who always put her family first.

Donna enjoyed many activities, including bowling, cooking, baking, camping, crocheting, snowmobiling and traveling. A favorite passion of hers was seeing the nation on the “Saturn Shuttle” bus trips. Donna also took a job as a school bus driver in the Austin area. She drove a bus for 20 years. She was a member of Queen of Angels parish for over 60 years. Donna always welcomed the neighborhood kids to play in the yard and eat with the family. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and hearing of all their life’s adventures.
