David Walter Wolff, 82 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 19, 2019, at Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minnesota.

David was born Oct. 16, 1937, to Doris (Nelson) and Walter A. Wolff at his home in Freeborn County, Minnesota. David attended country school and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1955.

on April 11, 1964, in Austin; they had two children — Brenda Lynn and Brian Dean. David was a farmer and was employed by and managed the Speltz Grain Elevator in Myrtle, Minnesota. Upon retirement, he moved to Austin, where he lived for the last 19 years. David was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and as treasurer. David also served on the London Township Board for many years.

Anything to do with grandchildren was always on his “to do” list. He also enjoyed bowling, riding snowmobiles, tractor pulls and playing cards. He enjoyed celebrating birthdays and New Year’s Eve with the same group of friends for over 50 years.

David is survived by his wife, Karen of Austin; daughter Brenda (Brad) Volden of Temecula, California and son Brian (Lani) Wolff of Adams; grandchildren Megan (Cory) Ecklund of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Nicholas Volden of Pacific Beach, California, Michael Volden of Ames, Iowa, Christopher Wolff of Wausau, Wisconsin, Madison Wolff of Adams and Eli Wolff of Adams. He is also survived are two nephews Dan (Jane) Conell of Omaha, Nebraska and Dana (Tracy) Conell of Gilbert, Arizona and a niece Dawn (Dwayne) Spinler of Thornton, Colorado; several great nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Delores Conell and her twin in infancy.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Myrtle, 85056 134th St, Glenville, MN 56036, with Pastor Josh Blair officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
