Richard Leroy Steinblock, 74, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.
Richard was born on Aug. 3, 1945, in Lake City, Iowa, to Almond and Helen (Barr) Steinblock. He went to grade school in Lake City, then moved to Austin, where he attended Austin High School. On May 7, 1988, Richard married Deb Peleaux at The Salvation Army. He spent all of his adult life in Austin and worked at Steve’s Pizza as a cleaner. Richard’s hobbies over the years consisted of hanging out with his daughter, playing dice, playing on the computer, listening to old country music, riding up and down the streets in his wheelchair, and car rides. He also loved watching wrestling and “Live P.D.” on TV, going out to the county fair and watching the demo derby, and most of all spending time with his family. Richard was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Deb Steinblock of Austin; daughter, Kimberly (Trent Laqua) Steinblock of Austin; siblings, Ron (Anita) Steinblock of Cameron, Wisconsin, Carole (Kevin) Ziebell of Lewiston, Minnesota, and Duane (Alma) Steinblock of the Philippines; sister-in-law, Judy Steinblock of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Almond and Helen Steinblock; siblings, Mary (Roger) Davis and Edward Steinblock; and niece, Debbie Davis.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
