Margaret Kuntz was born April 29, 1918, in London Township, Freeborn, Minnesota, the eldest child born to the late Reinhold and Rosie (Chapek) Weber. She married the late Orville William Kuntz (November 1915 – May 1970) on July 27, 1941, in Lancaster, Missouri.

As a young mother during World War II, Margaret contributed to the effort by working in a munitions plant while her husband served overseas in the Philippines.

Shortly after the war, they moved to California, where she was a homemaker and raised her son and daughter and several foster children.

She later became a licensed day-care operator, cherishing her time with the infants and toddlers with whom she was entrusted. She took great joy in keeping in contact with many of these children as they grew to adulthood.

Margaret was an avid gardener and loved to raise beautiful flowers.

She is survived by her son, Gary Lee Kuntz of Danville; granddaughter, Christy Michele (Torbert) Van Den Heuvel of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great-grandson, Joseph Matthew Ven Den Huevel of Colorado Springs; and siblings, Marjorie May (Weber) Halverson, Bernice Irene (Weber) Lindahl of Austin, Minnesota, Raymond Dale Weber of Tacoma, Washington, and Marcella Rose (Weber) Rockwell of Brownsdale, Minnesota.

She was predeceased by her husband, Orville William Kuntz in 1970; and her daughter, Karen Ann (Kuntz) Torbert in 2018.
