Lucy Alberta Bauer Gnada, 98, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at St. Mark’s Living in Austin.

Lucy was born Feb. 21, 1921, in Austin, the daughter of William and Edith (Dickens) Coogan. She grew up in Austin and attended Austin Public Schools. In 1941, Lucy married Arthur Bauer. Their marriage was blessed with two sons. Arthur passed away in 1984. In 1988, she married Roland Gnada. Lucy enjoyed many winters in Arkansas with Roland. In 2004, Roland passed away. Over the years, Lucy worked for Nickerson Farms and Dickens Greenhouse. She was a lifetime member of The Eagle’s Club, VFW Post 1216, and past member of the Fellowship Methodist Church. Lucy loved to cook and bake; her favorite pie to bake was lemon meringue. She also enjoyed making calendars and bowling when she was younger. Lucy will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Art (Nancy) Bauer of Austin; two step-daughters, Elizabeth (Roger) Moore of Buffalo, Minnesota, and Sue (Michael) Samuelson of Kentucky; one grandson, Brad Bauer; sister, Mary Klingfus of Austin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Coogan; husband, Arthur Bauer; husband, Roland Gnada; son, Freddy Bauer in infancy; and siblings, Betty Bluhm, Edgar Coogan, Kenny Coogan, Carlton Coogan, Doris Krueger and Myrtle Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will take place one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lansing Cemetery. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
