Early morning accident sends one to hospital

A man was transported to the hospital early Tuesday morning with non-life threatening injuries after he lost control of the semi he was driving.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol report, the semi, driven by David Lee Hoover, of Charles City, Iowa, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 when he lost control. The semi struck the guard rail and bridge at exit 187. The accident took place at 3:08 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to the report.

Hoover was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, in Rochester.

Alcohol was not involved, according to the report.

The Rose Creek Fire Department, Mayo Clinic Ambulance and The Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted the State Patrol on the scene.
