Bicyclist injured in Thursday night accident

An Austin man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a vehicle struck his bicycle Thursday night.

According to Austin Police Capt. Todd Clennon, a 2014 Toyota sedan was travelling northbound on Fourth Street Northwest at about 9:59 p.m. on Thursday. When the vehicle went to turn west onto Oakland Avenue at a green light, it struck a bicycle that had entered the intersection.

Mayo Ambulance Service transported the bicyclist, Jason Warner, 35, of Austin, to Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin with non-life threatening injuries. When asked what happened, Warner told first responders he could not remember, Clennon said.

The Toyota’s driver, Delgado Deiondra, 22, of Austin, was cited for driving after revocation of his license. The Toyota sustained minor damage.
