Best Bets: Hormel Home meal benefits military families

With Veterans Day coming up in November, the Hormel Historic Home is giving residents the chance to support military families with the 2019 Hormel Military Veterans Engagement Team (HMVET) Gourmet Meal Fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Friday.

For $75, diners can enjoy a four-course gourmet meal with live musical entertainment. All proceeds from the event will support the Ironwood Springs Operation Welcome Home programming for military families.

All Members Art Show

Do members of Austin Area Arts have artistic talent? Come and find out Friday evening.

The Austin ArtWorks Center will be hosting a grand opening of the new All Members Show from 5-7 p.m. on Friday in the second floor gallery. The show will feature artwork made by Austin trea Arts members and will run from Friday until Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.

For this show only, art purchased from the show may be moved immediately.

The show is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.

Thanksgiving Feast Fundraiser

Help raise funds to support the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center interns and programming during the 17th annual Thanksgiving Feast Fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. at the Austin Holiday Inn Conference Center.

Tickets are $40 for the event, which will include a social hour, delicious meal, music and entertainment, raffles, games, and a silent and live auction.

All proceeds go to the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.

• American Red Cross Blood Drive, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mower County Employees.

• Halloween Dinner, noon at the Mower County Senior Center. Join us for a Halloween costume dinner – costumes are optional, but there will be a prize for the best costume.
