Hormel Historic Home to host a pair of events

The Hormel Historic Home will be hosting a pair of upcoming events.

Starting at 6 p.m., the ASD Parent/Caregiver Network Event will be held, presented by Healing Rhythms Music Therapy, LLC. A light meal will first be served followed by a presentation at 6:15 p.m. The event is free.

Healing Rhythms will be sharing about the benefits of music therapy as a resource for children and adults of all ages and abilities. It will also discuss funding options for music therapy in communities across Southern Minnesota.

Music therapy benefits many dealing with PTSD, autism, dementia, traumatic brain injury and many other challenges.  Come and learn how it might help you or a loved one.

At 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 a cosplay social will be held until 5 p.m. Cosplay is a costume pop culture activity of creating and wearing an outfit based on a beloved fictitious character from any franchise—often anime.

The event is all about respect and camaraderie providing opportunities for social interaction, craftsmanship and performance skills for ages 18 and up.

Event will include pizza, photo opportunities, gaming (must bring own handheld system), cosplay contest, dancing and sale of Merchandise. Cost is $15 general entry fee and $20 for vendor tables, which includes entry fee.
