Roger Wallace Krause, 91

Roger Wallace Krause, 91, of Oakland, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019.

He was born April 6, 1928, in Nunda Township, Minnesota, to Ora and Esther (Kraushaar) Krause. He grew up in Conger, Minnesota, and attended Freeborn County Country School. After his schooling, Roger joined the U.S. Army, where he served as a military policeman. On July 22, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty Lou Torrens at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Freeborn County, Minnesota, where Roger worked on his farm until his retirement.

Roger enjoyed polka dancing, watching Big Joe Polka, restoring antique tractors, travelling, mowing the lawn, going to the casino, fishing and camping. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Orin (Brenda) Krause, David Krause, Jill (Paul) Rockers and Arlyn (Joleen) Krause; grandchildren, Olivia and Alayna Krause; step-grandchildren, Angela and Nathaniel Bailey; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou; parents, Ora and Esther Krause; and sister, Carol Morgan.

A funeral service will be held on at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, at Hayward Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joshua Endersen officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Trondheim Lutheran Church. Online condolences are welcome at
