Robert Gerald Minto, 72, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at Spring Valley Senior Living in Spring Valley, Minnesota.

Robert was born Dec. 31, 1946, to Harvey and Alice (Ertman) in Blue Earth, Minnesota. He attended Blue Earth Schools. He was united in marriage to Linda Bartholomew. Together they had four children. Linda passed away in 1986. On Dec. 29, 1989, Robert married Mathilda “Tillie” Pfiefer-Fett. He worked for Akkerman Manufacturing. Robert was very active in the VFW; he did poppy displays that were displayed nationally. His hobbies throughout the years included fishing, mowing the acreage and taking car rides while enjoying the scenery. Robert filled his free time watching football and baseball games and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his four children, Robyn (Elias) Flores of Austin, Wayne (Betty) Minto of Dodge Center, Minnesota, Tina Wiersma of Austin and Jason (Tashma) Minto of Conway, South Carolina; seven step-children, Richard (Cindy) Fett of Austin, Kathy (Greg) Nash of Canton, Minnesota, Ronald (Susan) Fett of Stillwater, Minnesota, Kristine Fett (Roger Hildreth) of Brighton, Colorado, Brian (Sara) Fett of Rochester, Minnesota, Kellie (Ben) Pugh of Cape Coral, Florida, and Karie (Dennis) Reimers of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 27 step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 60 step great-grandchildren; four brothers; and two sisters. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Linda; and second wife, Tillie, in 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in rural Waltham, Minnesota, with Pastor Dwight DoBell officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1216. Services are prearranged and performed with Worlein Funeral Home of Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
