Author Curt Brown to be featured in writing workshop

As part of the Austin ArtWorks, an author chat and writing workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday at Riverland Community College, room C107.
The workshop will feature Curt Brown, an award-winning journalist, Minnesota history columnist and author.

He will discuss his books and Sunday history stories that run in the Minneapolis StarTribune. During this time he will use two of his columns with Austin angles to discuss how the Minnesota History column has morphed into a crowd-sourcing storytelling platform.
Brown will also discuss his writing techniques and will use a police blotter in a writing exercise.
This workshop is free, but registration is required for this workshop. Email sue.grove@riverland.edu. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Aug. 20.
