Mower County Senior Center
At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and at 4:30 p.m. on Friday we are having soup and salad bar again.
Like last month, we will have a full salad bar: lettuce with all the toppings, two other salads and homemade breads. We will have price levels from the lighter appetite to all you can eat. Come in and enjoy our fresh homemade soup and salad bar this week.
Caregivers Support Group
At 10:30 a.m. on Thursday is our Caregivers Support Group. This group meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Mower County Senior Center.
This is a great opportunity to take some time out for yourself, as you will find that you are not alone.
Topics at these meetings vary. There are both rewards and struggles to care giving. We offer supportive and caring group sessions. We also take this time to discover new ways of coping with concerns you may have. It takes tremendous strength to be a caregiver. That is why it is so important to take time out for you.
Self care can be anything from taking a walk to reading a book. Even a few minutes of complete silence can go a long way. All of our meetings are confidential and set in a non-judgmental and welcoming environment. This is for everyone that is a caregiver. Feel free to join us even if you have never come. We hope to see you there. If you have any questions about this group feel free to call Nancy Donahue at 1-507-433-8376 or Melissa Albert at 1-507-433-3462.
Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and sandwich for 50 cents. Tuesday we will be having Hhamburger stroganoff for $2. You are always welcome at the center. See you here!
