Mildred Genevieve Pieper, 98, died on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island, Minnesota.

Mildred Genevieve Ulwelling was born on Nov. 20, 1920, in Rose Creek, Minnesota, to Philip and Mary (Langer) Ulwelling. Mildred graduated from Rose Creek High School. On April 22, 1944, she married Jerry Pieper in Rose Creek. In 2000, she moved to Rochester, Minnesota. She enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, gardening, camping and playing cards. She was a longtime caregiver for her daughter, Linda, who passed away in 2016.

Survivors include her son, Mike (Renee) Pieper of Rochester; daughter, Carol Forrester of Austin, Minnesota; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Lorna Ulwelling of Litchfield, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter; three brothers; one sister; and a son-in-law.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Pine Haven Care Center and Seasons Hospice for their wonderful care of Mildred. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
