Maxine Mae Brady, 87

Maxine Mae Brady, 87, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019, at St. Mark’s Living of Austin.

Maxine was born in Spring Valley, Minnesota, on Sept. 9, 1931, to Oscar and Agnes (Freiheit) Huffman. She attended Austin Public Schools. On Oct. 8, 1949, Maxine was united in marriage to Rolland Brady in Austin. Together the couple had four daughters: Linda, Marlene, Barbara and Brenda. Maxine worked at Weyerhaeuser over 37 years. She enjoyed relaxing at Cedar Lake in Faribault, Minnesota, going south in the winter, and volunteering at the Salvation Army for many years. Maxine will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Webb) Davis of Austin, Marlene (Robert) Kirsch of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Barbara (Allen) McAlister of Austin and Brenda (Mark) Nilsson of Owatonna, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Sarah Kitzmann, Joe Davis, Hope McAlister, Emily McAlister, Lindsey Wylde and Jesus Jauregui; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Barbara) Huffman of Austin; sister, Wanita (Eugene) Pfeifer of Austin; brother-in-law, Kenneth Guckeen of Austin; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Huffman of Austin and Bonnie Brady of Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Agnes Huffman; her husband, Rolland; sisters, Viola Deyo and Lavonne Norgaard; and brothers, Earl, Eldon, Wesley, Roy, Harold and Duane.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor James Groleau officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church. Interment will be at a later date in Grandview Cemetery in Austin. Memorials can be directed to the Salvation Army.
