ARDEN HILLS — Approximately 31 soldiers from the Minnesota National Guard’s 147th Human Resources Company Casualty Liaison Team 2 and 147th Finance Detachment, 347th Regional Support Group recently returned from deployments overseas.

The soldiers will be officially welcomed home during a ceremony at 1 p.m. today at the Arden Hills Army Training Site, 4761 Hamline Ave. N, Arden Hills, Minnesota, 55112.

The soldiers returned after nine-month deployments to the Middle East in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel and Operation Spartan Shield.

While deployed to Afghanistan, six soldiers in the Casualty Liaison Team had duties to include tracking all patients through the Craig Joint Theater Hospital in Bagram and the NATO Role III Medical Multinational Unit Hospital in Kandahar.

Their efforts directly enabled medical personnel to safely conduct their duties and save patient lives by mitigating possible terroristic threats to personnel and the facilities. These six soldiers returned to Minnesota in early July.

The July 13 event will be the first time the soldiers are back together as a unit to participate in a reintegration event.
