Two individuals who allegedly sold drugs to police informants on two separate occasions appeared in Mower County Court on Wednesday.
Archie Deangelo Larkins, also known as Archie David Larkins, 42, of Austin was charged with felony second-degree drugs-sale of 10 grams or more of methamphetamine.
According to the court complaint, narcotics detectives met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) on Feb. 26 about purchasing methamphetamine from Larkins. The CRI advised that Larkins agreed to sell him 14 grams of methamphetamine at a location in Austin. The CRI and his vehicle were searched and police provided him an audio transmitter and buy money.
The CRI was monitored as he drove to a location in Austin, where Larkins got into his vehicle. Larkins then instructed him to drive to a different location, where he sold him a plastic bag containing 13.949 grams of methamphetamine. The CRI then left the area, met with police at a predetermined location and turned over the drugs.
A review of Larkins’ criminal record shows prior convictions for theft, drug possession and drug sales. He is currently awaiting disposition on a felony third-degree drug sales charge.
Dimitri William Soto, 21, of Austin was charged with felony third-degree drugs-sale of narcotic.
According to the court complaint, narcotics detectives met with a CRI on June 13 about purchasing heroin from Soto. The CRI and his vehicle were searched and police provided him an audio transmitter and buy money.
The CRI was then monitored as he met with Soto at a location in Austin. Soto sold 0.27 grams of heroin to the CRI, who then met with police at a predetermined location and surrendered the drugs.
Larkins and Soto will appear in court again on Aug. 5.
