Robert “Bob” Kenneth Jochumsen, 82, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Bob was born on June 8, 1937, in Lyle, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Elva (Brandt) Jochumsen. He grew up in Lyle and graduated from Lyle High School in 1955. On June 29, 1958, Bob was united in marriage to LaRayne Lomholt at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. LaRayne passed away May 27, 2019. Bob worked for 32 years at the American Can Company and then for International Can, where he worked until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles Club, and Our Saviors Lutheran Church, where he loved to usher on Sunday mornings. His hobbies consisted of fishing, hunting and league bowling. Many of his mornings were spent eating breakfast at various locations around Austin, including at the Moose Club on Sunday mornings. He loved to take driving trips through the country, traveling to Iowa to get gas because it was cheaper, and to Diamond Jo Casino. Bob was a devoted Minnesota Viking and Twins fan and especially loved spending time with family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Kevin Jochumsen of Austin, Kellee Jochumsen of Austin, KaLyn Ellis of Seattle, Washington, Kendahl Jochumsen of Rochester, Minnesota, Karyn Nelson of Austin and Kerry (Katie) Jochumsen of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Elva Jochumsen; wife, LaRayne Jochumsen; daughter-in-law, Alberta Jochumsen; and granddaughter, Sarah Beth Jochumsen.

A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin. Interment will be held at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
