Police are seeking any information that could lead to the arrest of two suspects involved in a Saturday night armed robbery.
According to Austin Police Chief David McKichan, a 23-year-old male called police at about 11:55 p.m. Saturday to report that he had been robbed at gunpoint in the 400 block of Ninth Street Northeast.
The alleged victim said he and a friend were walking in the area when a white four-door vehicle pulled up. Two Hispanic males exited the vehicle and pointed black semi-automatic pistols at them. The men took the victim’s wallet and fled southbound.
McKichan said police were unable to locate the vehicle; however, the victim’s wallet was found not far from the scene. All of the cash in the wallet had been taken.
McKichan is asking anyone in the area who may have seen something to call the Mower County Law Enforcement at 507-437-9400. Calls can be made anonymously.
