The goals that Angela Himebaugh and Rebecca Wolterman had when they became co-chairs of the Adams Booster Club in 2017 have always been to bring more activities, entertainment and food to Adams Dairy Days and all the events hosted by the Adams Booster Club.

“Our mission is simple: to strengthen our community by creating events that allow people to connect,” Wolterman said.

Himebaugh and Wolterman are both transplants to the Adams community; Himebaugh grew up in Austin and Wolterman in Grand Meadow.

“We did not grow up attending Dairy Days, but we know how important community events are to the communities we grew up in,” Himebaugh said. “We have always wanted to grow the Booster Club events for the Adams community and also so our kids can enjoy these events as our husbands did growing up in Adams.”

Adams Dairy Days begins today and will run through Sunday. Some of the activities visitors can look forward to include:

• Kids entertainment, such as Fun Faces face painting, magician Jim Jayes, and the Baron of Bubbles;

• Musical entertainment, such as Colby Kent & the Stompin Ground, the 34th Infantry Division “Red Bull” Band Cover Fire, vintage rock n’ roll group Hair of the Dog, northern country musician Luke Hendrickson, and old time string band The Skally Line and more.

• Returning events, such as Acres & Asphalt Car & Tractor Show, Corn Box (presented by Northern Country Coop) entertainment all weekend on Commerce Stage, and food trucks from Abbey’s Concessions, Papa Murphy’s Pizza and Mower County Dairy Stand.

“We have been able to achieve our goals with the help of so many people contributing to the Dairy Days weekend and other Booster Club events,” Himebaugh said. “We are especially grateful to have Ella Noterman and Katie Schaefer on our Board; they took on some really large aspects of the events and we are thrilled to have them with us to achieve our mission of creating events that allow people to connect.”
